18th ICOMOS GA – Call for papers – “Heritage and Landscape as Human Values” – Clarifications

The GA2014 Organizing Committee and the ICOMOS International Secretariat have received questions for clarifications concerning the call for papers for the 18th ICOMOS General Assembly Scientific Symposium “Heritage and Landscape as Human Values”.

The questions concerned :

whether non-members can submit abstracts : Yes both ICOMOS members and non-members may submit abstracts;  

whether authors can submit more than one abstract: No more than one abstract per author will be considered (unless for the second abstract you are not the principal author).

18e AG ICOMOS – Appel à communications – « Patrimoine et paysages en tant que valeurs humaines » – clarifications

Le Comité d’organisation de l’AG 2014 et le Secrétariat international de l’ICOMOS ont reçu des demandes de précisions concernant l’appel à communications pour le Symposium scientifique de la 18e Assemblée générale “Patrimoine et du paysages en tant que valeurs humaines”.

Les questions portent sur:

si les non-membres peuvent soumettre des résumés: Oui, à la fois les membres de l’ICOMOS et les non-membres peuvent soumettre des résumés;

si les auteurs peuvent soumettre plus d’un résumé: Pas plus d’un résumé par auteur sera pris en considération (à moins que pour un deuxième résumé, vous ne soyez pas l’auteur principal).

Le texte de l’appel à communications a été mis à jour afin de tenir compte de ces précisions.

Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning

April 12-13, 2013, Amherts, MA

The Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning is held every three years to bring together experts who are influencing landscape planning, policy making and greenway planning from the local to international level. It is intended to highlight recent trends and expand the literature about landscape and greenway planning. The aim is to explore how landscape architects and planners from different countries have approached greenway planning and to understand how greenways have been tailored to each county’s unique geographical, cultural, and political circumstances.
Call for Abstracts
The program committee invites you to contribute original, unpublished papers focusing on one of the conference topics to the Fábos International Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning. Please submit extended abstracts (max 2 pages / min 500 words) online via the conference web-based submission system. Abstracts submitted as a PDF will be accepted until November 16, 2012. All papers and presentations at the conference will be in English. The conference will be held in Amherst, MA on the University of Massachusetts campus. The conference proceedings will be published in digital form in April 2013.

IFLA 2013 Call for Abstracts Now Open

The closing date for abstract submissions is 28 September 2012. Accepted abstract submitters will then be required to register and finalise a paper for the proceedings by January 31 2013.

Congress Theme – Shared wisdom in an age of change – overview

Never has the discipline of landscape architecture been more relevant than in this age of momentous global change, where current approaches to management of our landscape can no longer be sustained.

IFLA50; shared wisdom in an age of change’ provides a framework within which to consider our changing landscape through multiple dimensions of wisdom. Whether exploring ancient wisdom, reaching across realms of contemporary knowledge, or imagining a more resilient future, shared wisdom strengthens our ability to effect positive change.

Abstract Submissions may be made under the following themes:

Call for Abstract YTU ICORP – Cultural Heritage Protection in Times of Risk: Challenges and Opportunities

Yıldız Technical University and ICOMOS-ICORP (International Committee on Risk Preparedness are organizing an international symposium on Cultural Heritage Protection in Times of Risk: Challenges and Opportunities on November 15-17, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The aim of this symposium is to contribute towards developing solutions on an 
international platform by sharing planned and realized works on defining and mitigating slow as well as catastrophic risks, especially natural and human  induced disasters and conflict situations, that threaten cultural heritage in short and long terms.
