We wish to invite you to join Eumelia’s Educational Program through our Grundtvig course on Sustainable Development (STEADY – Simulation for Trainers in Environmentally Amicable Development & Youth) in Laconia, Greece. Travel to the island of Elafonisos and contribute to its development through the creation of a project proposal. The courses are geared towards Train-the-Trainer techniques to enhance the professional prospects of beneficiaries. UIA 2014 DURBAN APPEL À CONTRIBUTIONS

Les connections, la diversité, l’intégration, la résilience, la durabilité, la responsabilité, l’humilité, tels sont les principes qui orienteront la dynamique, les défis et les échanges créatifs du congrès de l’UIA à Durban (3-7 août 2014).

L’une des principales ambitions du congrès de l’UIA est de promouvoir l’idée que la ville est un écosystème au service de tous les segments de la population. Les contributions scientifiques illustreront le thème du congrès :
« ARCHITECTURE, AILLEURS, AUTREMENT » et ses trois sous-thèmes :
. LA RÉSILIENCE, en termes : d’éradication de la pauvreté, d’espace, d’économies
géopolitiques.
. L’ÉCOLOGIE associée aux notions de temps, d’évolution, de système, de processus
et d’environnement.
. LES VALEURS, plus particulièrement celles qui sont liées à l’exercice professionnel,
à la formation et à l’éducation architecturale.

PROCÉDURE ET CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION
La soumission s’effectue en ligne sur une plateforme dédiée.
Les résumés, rédigés en langue anglaise, ne doivent pas excéder 300 mots et ne comporter aucune illustration.
La date limite de soumission des résumés est fixée au 31 octobre 2013.
Les résumés seront examinés en double aveugle et la sélection s’effectuera en fonction des critères suivants :
. La pertinence par rapport aux thèmes et aux sous-thèmes du congrès
. L’originalité
. La rigueur
. La contribution à l’élargissement des connaissances.

Call for New Editor – Journal of Landscape Architecture

Call for NEW EDITOR Journal of Landscape Architecture, with special responsibility for ‘Thinking Eye’ Section.
JoLA, The Journal of Landscape Architecture invites applications for the position of Editor to join the Editorial team, with special responsibility for the journal’s peer reviewed visual essay section ‘Thinking Eye’.
The new editor would be appointed during the Summer 2012.

‘Thinking Eye’ aims to support critical investigations into visual concepts, methodologies and media, and to promote scholarly discourse on visual culture in landscape architecture.  We publish peer-reviewed experiments and methodological innovation, including those practices and ideas drawn from the fine and other arts and related design and environmental disciplines that have demonstrable relevance for contemporary landscape architecture theory and practice.

Applications are due by June 1 2012.
